Paddlers,

Who's ready to "spring forward" on March 14, 2010???  The members and friends of the Coastal Bend Paddler's club certainly are.  We welcome this time of the year to enjoy what is known to many of us as our "Therapy Thursdays".  We meet at about 5:30pm at the boat launch across from the Rose Garden in Riverside Park for our 4.2 mile journey along the Texas Paddling Trail.  With the wet weather feeding the banks of the Guadalupe River, our main objective is always safety first.  

Paddling Schedule:

Thursday evenings, beginning March 18, 2010, 5:30pm at the boat ramp across from the Rose Garden in Riverside Park. 

Updates:

Coastal Bend Paddlers organization has several fun events scheduled for this year.  

In February, club members hosted a paddling clinic at the Man to Man Expo where many different styles of boats could be enjoyed.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this event.

In March, we will gather for a spring overnight camping trip on the Guadalupe River.  This trip is tentatively set for March 20, 2010.  We welcome members and friends.  Come join us for some amazing fun and camaraderie. 

~On the agenda of the Coastal Bend Paddlers club are efforts to extend the paddling trail and add access points north of the park at U.S. Highway 77, south at the Moody Street bridge, and at U.S. Highway 59 near the water treatment plant on the south end of town.

"Our long-term plan is to have 25-30 miles of trail from just south of Cuero to the saltwater barriers north of Seadrift," said Dr. Santiago Marroquin, president of the paddlers club.
